Back in 2023, I started a bulking phase. Basically I ate and drank whatever I wanted. Just lifted heavy. No cardio. Just bodybuilding/hypertrophy training. The dirty bulking thing is dumb and just an excuse to eat like crap. I was trying to get bigger and stronger but it wasn’t the right way. So January 1, 2024, I decided to start my cut. I needed to lean out. The timeline I put myself on was my birthday, September 13. I had some time to do it right. I had already stopped drinking in October 2023, but hadn‘t really dove into my nutrition besides just counting calories. I dropped from 207 to about 193. I was happy with what I did myself but realized that I needed a coach. I needed that extra help with the nutrition side of my journey to take it to the next level. I hired Tom Moss at the end of April. Final results: 184lbs and 14% body fat.
As I’ve gotten older (57yo), losing weight and dropping body fat had become, what felt like, impossible. This isn’t a case of just being a “couch potato”, I was doing CrossFit five days a week, but the weight just never left me. My diet was never great, but even when I was eating what I “thought” was clean, nothing in the mirror ever changed, so I resigned myself to “you’re just getting old, that’s just how things are”.
At the encouragement of my wife, I started working with Tom Moss 6 months ago, and I’ve seen some amazing changes. Belly fat that I thought would never leave has started melting away… I dropped 20+ pounds in the first 60 days, and then seemed to stall out. But that’s when I learned to STOP staring at the scale… my body fat has continued to drop and muscle mass has steadily increased.
I’m excited to see what the next 6 months brings…
For the past few years, I have been suffering from severe back pain. After receiving the results of MRIs, X-rays, etc, Dr Carpenter referred me to Tom Moss at Bodies in Motion. I have been going for a couple of months now. As a result of the therapy that I have been doing and the support from Tom, the staff, and everyone who is receiving therapy, the results have been great. I no longer have the pain that I was experiencing, and I am able to do a lot of things I couldn’t six months ago. Bodies in Motion is a great place for therapy and to be surrounded by a support group that encourages you and helps you achieve your goals.
I have been working on my health now for 8 months. With the gym and help from Tom Moss, my weight loss journey has been very successful. In the beginning, it started off slow, but after a couple of months the weight started to fall off. I feel better all the way around and definitely have more energy. With training and proper nutrition, IT IS ALL POSSIBLE. I started at 415 lbs and now I weigh in at 303 lbs. I dropped from 48% body fat to 32% and the weight is still falling off. If you’re wondering if you should take that first step, I am here to tell you that you won’t regret it.
I was motivated to lose weight the day I looked on the mirror and realized I didn’t recognize the person looking back at me. Weighing 190 pounds I realized it was time to get my act together.
When I went to Bodies in Motion Tom was so helpful. He taught me to eat a well balanced meal and maintain a healthy lifestyle that I could live with. Now, 53lbs lighter at 137lbs I’m happier and healthier than ever!!!
I met Tom while working in Alabama in spring of 2022. At that time I was dirty bulking and wanted to cut down. He built a meal plan for me and gave me options on things I could change out. I am a person of habit and said you build same thing daily and that’s what I’ll eat. At the time I cut down 20ish pounds keeping to the diet. I moved job locations and stuck to the plan. In the summer I was rolled in a side by side and broke my collarbone and stretched ligaments in my right shoulder. It was hard to continue to work. In November 2023 I decided I needed to make a drastic change within myself both mentally and physically. At the start I was 290 with 40ish % body fat. I went back to the meal plan he built changing out chicken for fish. After a month I reached back out to Tom to show where I started and where I was currently. I dropped about 30lbs at that time. Tom had me cut out all carbs. I do 45 min of fasting cardio every morning and about an hour of lifting. As of 2/11/24 I weight in at 241 with 22% body fat.
I have struggled with my weight for a while, I have tried so many diets and none worked but one. I lost 13 pounds in almost 2 weeks. Good right? No because the weight came back and brought more with it. I was in bad shape when I joined the gym around the last week in June. My cholesterol was so high until my Cardiologist told me I was probably going to have to have another stent or pacemaker. That’s the main reason I joined the gym because I didn’t want to go through that again. Plus i was in the process of trying to get that back surgery that the doctors has talked about for years because I was tired of hurting. But a friend told me about Tom. She felt he could help me, and he did. I weighed 177 when I joined this gym,I’m now 156. 2l pounds down. I told him all this when I joined and he said he could help me. Tom has worked my but off but it’s all good. Not only that, he’s teaching me how to eat, and also he has did therapy on my back and I feel so much better. He’s an amazing trainer and therapist. Thank you Tom Moss!!
When I started the first of March, I was 183. Now, first of June, I am 155. My energy has been so much better! They’ve been able to reduce some of my medications. I look forward to going to the gym because it makes my day go by so much better. I have tried multiple diets and programs to lose weight but none of them ever seemed to work. As a nutritionist, Tom was able to show me the proper foods to eat to maintain my health. He’s very knowledgeable about the body and has improved my life tremendously.
My name is Hugh Sullivan. I started therapy with Tom Moss in February 2023 after completing what outpatient therapy could do for me. I could walk with help using my left leg very little and had no movement in my left arm.
Tom explained the foods and amounts that I needed to get my strength up. He also explained the process of coming back from a TBI and that it would be slow but effective if done properly. He started stretching my left leg and we would walk with help. Then I began on the bike. Over time, I used weights for my shoulder, legs, and core to help me be more independent. I was having several seizures a month and have only had one major seizure since working with Tom.
It is now May 2023, and I can walk short distances alone, but with someone still close by. I never thought I would get this far! It seems like everyday something new is moving.
When I met Tom in 2020 I weighed 290 lbs with 33% body fat. I really liked what Tom told me but I was already lifting and thought my plan was going to work out. Long story short, Tom Moss knows what he is doing. He always said “trust the process” and his process is golden. In 2022 after just never being able to meet my expectations or goals - using many reputable paid trainers and mainstream lifting platforms- I went to Tom and said I will Trust Your Process. It’s now May of 2023 and I am 221 lbs and 8% body fat. It’s a simple formula folks: Follow Tom’s workouts and adhere to his nutritional plan- specifically formulated for you- and then “Trust His Process”. Not many things in life are 100% successful but his process is as close as it gets to perfect. Trust Tom and get to your goals - you will not regret It.
I started with Tom in October 2022. Honestly, I just wanted help with what I should be using for exercise equipment at the gym so I could lose some weight and tighten up some areas on my body. After sitting down and talking with Tom and discussing ALL of my issues that were going on with me, he said he could help me out with everything. I have high cholesterol, Essential Tremors, and my back has trigger points that are very painful at times. Tom has put me on a nutrition plan that has helped me to lose roughly 30lbs, I have lost body fat, and gained muscle. He has also put me on a workout plan that has strengthened my whole body and tightened my muscles. In the nutrition plan he has foods that are targeting my high cholesterol. My back feels so much better, he has been working the trigger points out with some therapy. Lastly, the most exciting part of Tom helping me out is with the Essential Tremors. It is so amazing! My doctor wanted to medicate me, but Tom has actually helped me to calm my tremors enough that medication is not needed. I can do so much more without the tremors causing problems. Tom is truly a miracle to me, he cares about his clients, and is very attentive to them and definitely knows a lot about the human body. I feel great about myself, better than I have in a long time, I just feel great and I look great too and it’s all thanks to Tom.
I started with Tom in June 2022 after vacationing in Alabama. We talked about my current exercise routine and nutrition and how I was not ready with my current coach to compete in August. He wanted to help me reach my goals and I took the leap of faith to work with him. He told me he could get me ready by the next NPC show in October. He did exactly what he said he was going to! Tom is very diligent, attentive, and inquisitive to his athletes and their opinión of their physique. He is always quickly to respond to your needs in your physique. Tom is knowledgeable in nutrition and exercises to obtain the body you want! Im leaner now than I have ever been and I can't wait to keep working with him!
When I first met Tom I was a little timid to get back into power lifting due to an injury I had. I was very nervous to work out with my hip being so weak. When I first got there I weighed in at 170. But after working out with him a few times a week, staying on my meal plan he gave me, and workout schedule that was also provided I can safely say that after a month I weighed in at 146 today. I couldn’t be more excited for the future and see where he can take me.
I met Tom in 2018 when I was mentally and physically in bad shape. He automatically understood what was going on with his wealth of knowledge and how to get me on the right track to help all of my issues. Being a type 1 diabetic we knew we couldn’t fix them all but he knew we could make a better life than what I had. I was 254 pounds at 35 percent body fat when I met Tom and now because of his help I am now 270 at 19 percent body fat and plan to step on stage for my first body building competition in 2023! Tom knows the human body unlike any other trainer I’ve ever met, and he truly cares for his clients unlike anyone. Without Tom and the way my health was headed I have no doubt that my life would definitely not be anywhere close to the same now as it is because of him.
In September of 2021, Ann and I decided to lose weight. I was 5’ 6” and weighed 169 pounds. The plan was simple— eat what we want while not exceeding 1200 calories a day. By January 1st, 2022 I had dropped 30 pounds but was still out of shape with very little muscle mass. We joined the gym on January 4th, 2022 and continued our starvation diet with the exception of eating more protein while not exceeding our calorie maxes. We met Tom a few weeks later at the gym. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and encouraging. He freely shared his knowledge and answered our questions. He showed genuine interest in us and asked several questions over the coming weeks to understand our journey. Tom wanted to understand where we started, where we were at, and what our goals were. He said he would be happy to work with us and shared all of the services and help he could provide. He was genuinely concerned with our diet and lack of nutrients our bodies were getting. I did not feel I needed a trainer. I wasn’t buying in.
For weeks I was unfazed, stubborn, and prideful. (or so Ann told me). lol
In early October of 2022 Ann had reached a plateau and was ready to try something different. She reached out to Tom and he created us a meal/workout plan that we started on October 24. My initial goal was add muscle mass and achieve a visible six pack. I was at 141 #’s and 15% body Fat. The first thing Tom did was up my food intake to 2000 calories. I was concerned with the extra food, but Tom was right—six weeks later I weighed in at 136 #’s with 12.3% body fat. Never hungry and losing body FAT. Tom is the man!! And crow tastes pretty good!
Started a new goal about 10 weeks ago. Tom modified my food and workouts to accomplish phase one bulking up gaining 15 #’s of body weight and skeletal muscle. Then changed my program to maintain muscle while lowering body fat back to 10-12 percent. I hope to provide an update in six months.
I am 5’ 2” and weighed 240. Our journey began October 1, 2021. The plan was simple, eat what we wanted while not exceeding 900 calories a day. We joined the gym in January 2022 having just lost 30 pounds freestyling, managing our food by counting calories, basically starving week to week. My goal was to lose weight, lose inches and lose body fat. We met Tom a few weeks later he was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and encouraging. He freely shared his knowledge and answered our questions. He showed genuine interest in us and asked several questions over the coming weeks to understand our journey. Tom wanted to understand were we started, where we are at, and what our goals were. He said he would be happy to work with us and shared all of the services and help he could provide. He was genuinely concerned with our diet and lack of nutrients our bodies were getting. I had a lot of medical issues in 2022, battling those I gained back 20 pounds over the summer. I reached a plateau in early October and was ready to try something different. In mid-October we teamed up with Tom. He created me a meal plan and workout plan. I started my new program on October 24, 2023. Since starting with Tom, I’ve lost 33.5 pounds and 8” of waistline. My current goal is lose an additional 30 pounds while gaining some muscle mass.
I met Tom in 2018 when he first opened his Fitness Facility in my home town. I just wanted to get my body into better shape overall and lose a few lbs.. He helped me achieve that goal, but then he started talking about how he’s done shows and trained others for shows, and it struck my attention and sounded fun but I thought to myself “I could never really do that”. It wasn’t a real deep thought, but then as my body transitioned, I asked him if it was possible and he said yes sister, anything is possible if your willing to sacrifice and commit yourself. Then he proceeded to tell me how hard it was and not just anyone can do it. Well, that’s all it took for me, being the competitive type and the type if you tell me I can’t, I have to prove I can. So I did. From there I started the journey to step on stage. It took longer than I wanted it to because “life happens”. I never gave up, and he never gave up on me. With him being back in his home town full time, he still continued to help in every way he could along the way. Nov. 5, 2022, I stepped on stage for my first time ever. Considering particular circumstances, I had a blast and couldn’t be more proud of the outcome and it won’t be my last. From here, with the help of my coach, Tom, family, and friends,… Its only going to get better! He’s more than a coach to me, we’ve become like family. Thank you Tom for having faith in me! 💪🏼
